kin
See Kin featured in Yankee Magazine!
The energetic Kin Schilling is the president and founder of the Cornucopia Project, while she is also a key community figure in Hancock, New Hampshire, she believes that in gardening with kids she has found her life’s calling, though she has succeeded at many other things, too! Kin is a woman of many talents: she has raised four children on her own while running a self-sufficient farm. She is also a restaurant entreprenneur and chef.

When Kin learned of the skyrocketing rates of childhood obesity across the country, she was inspired to start the Cornucopia Project, expanding her role in teaching kids about food in an attempt to reconnect them with their environment. She is thrilled to see how much the Cornucopia Project has grown from a tiny 7-family CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) to a non-profit that reaches three schools and a dozen towns, with a new home location of Brookside Farm in Hancock, NH, outdoor bread oven and a greenhouse. Never one to rest on her laurels, though, Kin is always busy working in the garden and thinking up new ideas for the Project for the future. She invites you to stop by the Brookside Farm any time- especially if you’re prepared to weed! If you’re lucky, Kin might cook something for you!
